Beloit Memorial 4 Verona 3

The Verona Area Wildcats Varsity lost a hotly contested 4-3 game in seven innings on Tuesday at Stampfl Field after surrending the lead in the seventh inning.

Brodie Roehrig racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Verona Area Wildcats Varsity. He doubled in the sixth inning.

Jarett Druding got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out seven, walked none and surrendered four hits.

John Moynihan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The game was scoreless until Beloit Memorial broke the ice with one run in the fourth. Beloit Memorial scored on an RBI single by Matt Masterson.

Beloit Memorial didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the seventh inning when it scored on a two-run double by Keegan Mickey.
