The Verona Area Wildcats Varsity lose 8-4 to Craig (Janesville, WI).

Stephen Lund drove in three runs, but the Verona Area Wildcats Varsity still fell to Craig 8-4 in seven innings on Tuesday at Riverside Park.

Jack Blomgren recorded the win for Craig . He pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings. Blomgren struck out five, walked one and gave up one hit.

Brad Laufenberg took the loss for the Verona Area Wildcats Varsity. He allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.

The bottom of the first saw Craig take an early lead, 1-0.

Craig didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring six runs in the fifth inning when it scored on a two-run double by Luke Malmanger, a two-run error, and two singles.
